As you know, summer vacations are about to start. There are many things you can do to enjoy your vacations. You can go for a tour outside Delhi, go sightseeing in your city itself or, for a change, you can enjoy all this being in Delhi while also doing some little things, literally little things,to bring a smile on a face for someone who lacks it for some reason or other. There is a range of things you can take part in, for your neighbourhood and society, depending upon your interest, skills — and what time you wake up in holidays! You can, for example, teach kids of slum dwellers or construction workers in your college or neighbourhood. Or if you are worried with increasing level of pollution or increasing prices of energy, you might like to work on environmental issues. Then there are people working for the care of old people, like with HelpAge or with DNiP for palliative care of terminally ill. You can also join youth based organisations which give you opportunities to learn and serve at the same time. This summer, try to balance your days between having fun and doing things for your society.
Some of the volunteer work you can do in summers of 2013.
